I've managed to get my CAPI up and running. But now i've some usability
problems which seems quite trivial but I could'nt figure out (yet) how
to vanish them. This is my Environment:
- PIII runing gentoo (on a current update level)
- kernel 2.6.10-gentoo-r1
- AVM C4 (running firmware from January 2004)
- capi4k-utils-20041006-r4 installed
- ppp-2.4.3 installed
- some running connections (including multilink and callback) using ppp1
and up (ppp0 is used by a adsl connection)
- using iproute2 tools to be able to do policy routing
OK, now the most important questions I have:
1.I'd like to have a ASCII-based monitor to check the connection state
of my capi/ppp-Interfaces (there is no X running nor installed on the
box). Something like the former imon will do!
2. How can I trigger a call or hangup for a specific line (without
terminating pppd)? Something like the good old isdnctrl
dial|hangup|addlink|removelink !?
3. I'm also looking for alternative way to restart my connections in
case the relating pppd exits. I would like to run my own scripts
(which also configures some routing, firewalls and other stuff), the
recommended way using /etc/inittab is not the way it works/I like.
Also i get a segmetation fault by running capiinfo (after showing

Any help?
Thx a lot,
Jan
