Der kann sowas ähnliches ja auch (V 2.0.45): 
(man fvwm2:)

       WindowShade [ opt ]
              Toggles the window shade feature  for  titled  win-
              dows.   Windows  in the shaded state only display a
              title bar.  If opt is not given, the  window  shade
              state  is  toggled.   If  opt  is  1, the window is
              forced to the shaded state.  If opt is 2, then  the
              window  is  forced  to the non-shaded state.  Maxi-
              mized windows and windows without titles cannot  be
              shaded.

liegt bei mir auf der rechten Maustaste im Titelbalken (.fvwm2rc):

Mouse 3         T       A       WindowShade

Bin totaler Fvwm2 Fan, muß aber zugeben, daß es noch nicht ganz ausgereift
ist (Hallo Michael ;-) ). Z.B. kriegt er Probleme mit dem Focus, wenn
NumLock aktiv ist :-(. Diesen Bug habe ich auch schon in der
Fvwm-Mailingliste beschrieben gesehen, scheint also kein Einzelfall zu
sein.
