Ich habe mich darum gekümmert ;-) Und offenbar hast Du es genauso
verstanden, wie die es gemeint hatten: aber hier jetzt die Antwort von

The information in the license file was put there by mistake. You have
the right - if you wish to run or distribute InterBase 4.0 on any
Linux platform that you want.  But bear in mind that we only certified
InterBase 4.0 on RHL 4.2, so if  you have any problems with the
software installation, or the way that it works on Debian, don't blame
us :-)

Hab's jetzt selbst installier und habe auch die Handbücher. Aber
vielen Dank für Deine Antowort. Auf den ersten Blick zumindest
erscheint auch mir Interbase als recht einfach. Und: Ich glaube, daß
embedded SQL angenehmer ist, als das rumhantieren mit APIs von Hand
;-)
