Genau für dieses Problem wurden lex/yacc (bzw. flex/bison) entworfen.
Damit ist das ein Kinderspiel.
Bei Deinem trivialen Problem reicht auch flex aus.
(yacc zwingt dem Programm eine "Mache alles mit globelen
Variablen"-Struktur
 auf.)
