linux-l: hdparm - dma-Mode will nicht (mehr)

Kann mir das hier jemand erklären?

root at hobbes:~# hdparm -c1 -d1 -S36 /dev/hda

/dev/hda:
 setting 32-bit I/O support flag to 1
 setting using_dma to 1 (on)
 HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted
 setting standby to 36 (3 minutes)
 I/O support  =  1 (32-bit)
 using_dma    =  0 (off)

root at hobbes:~# uname -a
Linux hobbes 2.4.0-test11 #19 Son Dez 3 13:19:56 CET 2000 i686 unknown
root at hobbes:~# cat /etc/debian_version 
woody

Ich bin sicher, daß dies auch mit diesem Kernel (also 2.4.0test11)
schon funktioniert hat... 

Ach ja:

root at hobbes:~# grep DMA /usr/src/linux/.config
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEDMA=y
CONFIG_IDEDMA_AUTO=y
