linux-l: module???

Hallo,
etho funzt jetzt.
Habe den entsprechenden alias-Eintrag gemacht.
Jetzt bekomme ich folgenden Fehler:

debian:/etc/modutils# pppoe -I eth0 -A
pppoe: Timeout waiting for PADO packets

Wenn ich versuche, eine Verbindung aufzubauen:
 
 debian:/etc/modutils# pppd pty "/usr/sbin/pppoe -I eth0"
 Couldn't set tty to PPP discipline: Invalid argument
 Waiting for 1 child processes...
   script /usr/sbin/pppoe -I eth0, pid 1660
    
      Terminating on signal 2.
        Waiting for 1 child processes...
	    script /usr/sbin/pppoe -I eth0, pid 1660
	        Child process /usr/sbin/pppoe -I eth0 (pid 1660)
		terminated with
		    signal 2                                                        

Die option im Kernel ist als Modul aktiviert. Ich
vermute mal, daß ppp_synctty.o nicht geladen wird.

Wie kann ich das einstellen?

Oder liegts an was anderem?
