Hmm, Netze sind auch nicht meine Welt.
Habe es eben auch mal Versucht. Sah soweit erfolgreich aus:

[pvo at EL-PRESIDENTE pvo]$ telnet www.belug.org 22

Ich tippe mal vorsichtig darauf, dass der Fehler eher in Deiner 
Richtung zu lokalisieren ist.
