Subject: March 2005 LUV meeting - ** NEW VENUE!** - Aptitude and GFS

** NEW VENUE!**

We've got a new venue. We're now holding meetings in the Buzzard
Lecture Theatre of the Evan Burge Building of Trinity College. Details
and pointers to maps below. Many thanks to RedHat who have stepped
   forward to sponsor our venue.

A Quick Guide to Aptitude by Ben Finney

Debian's next release, "sarge", will feature a new package management
interface. Combining the power of the command-line and the ease of a
full-screen console application, Aptitude is a fresh, convenient way
to manage your packages in Debian GNU/Linux.

What's new in Linux by Stewart Smith

Stewart will be giving us a quick wrap-up of the goings on in the
Linux world over the last couple of months, and what's coming up.

GFS - Global File System by Richard Keech

Red Hat Global File System (GFS) is an open source (GPL),
POSIX-compliant cluster file system and volume manager that allows
Linux servers to simultaneously read and write to a single shared file
system on the SAN, achieving high performance and reducing the
complexity and overhead of managing redundant data copies. Red Hat GFS
has no single point of failure, is incrementally scalable from one to
hundreds of servers, and works with all standard Linux applications.
Red Hat GFS is shipped as standard with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
