[linux-l] Wie kann man eine eigene Anwenudng in Linux-Distributionen einbetten?

Guten Tag an allen!
Ich habe eine Anwendung in Java geschrieben ( 
http://korais.sourceforge.net/ ), welche dem Anwender ermöglicht, Texte 
und Emails auf allen möglichen antiken (und modernen) Sprachen zu 
schreiben und lesen. Hier die Zusammenfassung aus meiner Webseite:

    * - Write texts or emails in Aramaic, *Ancient Greek* (Polytonic)
      and *Modern Greek *(Monotonic), *Coptic*, *Cypriot Syllabogram*,
      *Etruscan*, *Hebrew*,* Old Persian*, *Phoenician*, *Ugaritic*,

      a table that displays all Unicode characters available.

Ich glaube, daß diese Anwendung für viele Sprachwissenschaftler Linux 
attraktiver machen würde und deswegen möchte ich gerne, sie in den 
vorhanden Linux-Distributionen einbetten lassen. Die JAR-Datei soll auch 
unter Linux laufen. ich habe es allerdings noch nicht getestet. Ich habe 
derzeit ein SuSE 10 bei mir laufen. Muß ich sie auch unter anderen 
Distributionen testen? Wenn ja, muß ich sie auch installieren oder geht 
es irgendwie auch ohne? Muß ich sie trotzdem in RPM packen? Wie sollte 
ich vorgehen?
Ich bin ein ziemlicher Linux-Anfänger, also vergibt mir bitte, wenn 
diese Frage zu poppelig klingt.
