Mutt macht das, wie auch schon elm vor vielen vielen Jahren, per default:

  6.3.137.  sig_dashes     Type: boolean    Default: set
  If set, a line containing ``-- '' will be inserted before your ``signature''.
  It is strongly recommended that you not unset this variable unless your
  ``signature'' contains just your name.  The reason for this is because many
  software packages use ``-- \n'' to detect your signature.  For example,
  Mutt has the ability to highlight the signature in a different color
  in the builtin pager.

Es ist uebrigens immer wieder nett zu sehen,
wenn mutt eine *richtige* Signatur in einer
extra Farbe darstellt.  :-)

Jetzt muesste mutt nur noch eine Option dafuer haben,
welche Signaturen nur bis zur vierten Zeile anzeigt...
