Hallo Liste,

was versteht man unter dem 'Gnome Desktop Environment'?
Synaptic entnehme ich: "Toolbar-like panels which can be attached to
the sides of your X desktop, or left floating are designed to be
used in conjunction with the Gnome Desktop Environment. Many features
are provided for use with the panels – including an application menu,
clock, mail checker, network monitor, quick launch icons and the like."
http://www.vuntz.net/journal/2006/06/08/391-what-is-gnome entnehme ich:
"The GNOME project provides two things: The GNOME desktop environment,
an intuitive and attractive desktop for users, and the GNOME development
platform, an extensive framework for building applications that
integrate into the rest of the desktop."
Wo ist der z. B. der Unterschied zwischen 'Gnome Desktop' und 'Gnome
Desktop Environment'?

Mit freundlichen Grüßen
Detlef Lechner
