Wenn Du das System-Root-Password vergessen hast, wuerde ich
vorschlagen, dass Du erstmal das knackst. Aber das meinst Du sicher
nicht.

Was genau funktioniert denn an dem in der Dokumentation
vorgeschlagenen: 

    19.10 How to reset a forgotten password.
     If you have forgotten the root user password for MySQL, you
     can restore it with the following procedure....
