Also ich habe SuSE 6.1 mit Kernel 2.2.5.
Beim Booten lasse ich es auch nicht laden, sondern erst bei Bedarf.
Meine AWE 64 funktioniert soweit. Nur MIDI-Files kann ich nicht
abspielen, aber das ist mir nicht so wichtig. (Wenn mir jemand dafür
einen Tip geben kann, hätte ich aber auch nichts dagegen! Meldung:
Drum set 16 is undefined
No instrument mapped to tone bank 0, program 1 - this instrument will not be heard
... gleiche Meldungen mit anderen Programmnummern)
Das einzige Problem, daß ich habe, ist, daß der KDE-CD-Spieler nicht
dafür sorgt, daß das Modul geladen wird. Klicke ich eine WAV-Datei an
und der KDE-WAV-Player startet, kann ich was hören. Sobald einmal der
Treiber geladen wurde, höre ich natürlich auch was von CD-Player.
Deshalb starte ich den Treiber über
KDE-Menü/Einstellungen/Information/Sound automatisch in KDE.
Meldet übrigens nur, daß er eine SB 16 gefunden hat!

Hier die meiner Meinung nach relevanten Eintragungen in meiner
/etc/conf.modules:
